Kristi's Circle

Kristi’s Circle was started at FPC in October of 2009.  The Circle’s mission is to create a tangible object for those we hear of that are in need of special prayer. This can include members of our immediate congregation or those who are not members that we are told about.
For several years now Prayer Shawl groups have been started in churches across the country.  It began with knitted shawls, then went on to crocheted shawls, and finally, quilted shawls. Our group does them all.  We meet twice a month in a member’s home, have coffee, talk, pray and devote our hands and minds to God’s glory as we cut, sew, crochet and knit. During the past year and one half Kristi’s Circle has made over fifty prayer shawls/quilts.  Each shawl/quilt is blessed before it is presented to the recipient.

Last year we also knitted over sixty small pocket size crosses that were packed in care packages and sent to a military company in Afghanistan.  This year we will be making one hundred pocket size scripture quilts to send to yet another military group, also in Afghanistan.

Kristi’s Circle was named in honor of Kristi Harrison, the daughter-in-law of one of our members who passed away in 2009 of cancer at a very young age.
